Reception & Sensory Event

San Antonio Gourmet Olive Company and its owner Christine Arrendondo will provide a brief educational program. Additionally, a grower and award winning Hyatt Chef, Frank Majowicz, has offered to make a brief presentation/discussion on cooking with olive oil.

About Christine Arrendondo

Ms. Arredondo, a graduate of Harlandale Middle School and South San Antonio High School, is a career U.S. Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq. Her business, San Antonio’s Gourmet Olive Oils, offers the freshest Ultra-Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oils available in the world today. The store carries more than 50 varieties of extra virgin olive oil, including infusions with various herbs, chiles and even honey.


About Frank Majowicz

Frank Majowicz oversees the culinary operation of the 947-room hotel including its Spindletop and Shula’s Steak House restaurants, and its in-room dining, banquets and off-site catering operations. Along with wife Renee, Majowicz owns Elgin’s first and only olive grove, consisting mainly of Arbequina and Arbosana olives. Their first harvest was in September 2016.
